This current weather overview is based on our MILK Home Meteorologist data.
The current satellite images of europe show that there is an extended high pressure area over the SE of Europe, the Balcan, while over the E Meditterranean there are convective clouds. Over the N Atlantic S and SW of Iceland there is a big field of cumulus or altocumulus clouds, while over central europe there is a jetstream-like cloud formation that reaches from the sahara, over Denmark until Russia. The polar front of the Atlantic seems to be surprisingly far to the south. Over the carribean it is generally quite nice with scattered clouds, although some cumulonimbus clouds are visible. SW of W Africa there is a big thunderstorm cluster, and MCS. Visible in Germany and Austria is that the clouds are actual clouds, and not only fog.
The radar of Germany shows rain, mostly in detatched form or showers that are partly strong, moving towards Germany from WSW or SW. Momentarily most of the rain is still west of a line Berlin-Kassel-Frankfurt-Stuttgart. Around berling there are slight radar echoes, but these are caused rather by fog and very light showers than anything else. In Austria it is dry.
